City of Glenville, WV Glenville is a town in the county of Gilmer and is also the seat of Gilmer County, West Virginia, United States, along the Little Kanawha River.

The population was 1,463 at the 2018 census. It is the home of Glenville State University and the WVSFF.

Update - Route 5 East Road Closure

As of 3:00pm - Rt 5 between Sand Fork and Stouts Mills remains closed. First Energy crews are working on the issues and they are planning to open 1 lane of traffic at around 5:30pm this evening. Please make arrangements to find an alternate route of travel.

Please be prepared to speak at the next meeting on Monday, September 7th at 7PM and be interviewed after the meeting.

A special meeting will be conducted on September 14th to potentially pick the new mayor. In your letter or resume please include your physical address and party affiliation.
