The Boston Recruiting Office, in conjunction with Sector and Base Boston, is hosting a Recruiting Open House on Saturday, 29APR at Base Boston from 0900-1400. The event is intended to demonstrate to local high school students what the Coast Guard does and to get them interested in joining our Service. Featured events include cutter tours, an Air Station Cape Cod demonstration, and a demonstration by the CG Honor Guard Silent Drill Team. Local units and tenants will also have static displays and personnel available to talk about their own careers and specialties.

We are requesting your help in spreading the word throughout your own communities and personal networks. We are also seeking volunteers to help ensure the event goes smoothly including setup/teardown, crowd control, and general interaction with the public. Any Base personnel interested in helping out can contact ITC Ngo ([email protected]) or LT Foster ([email protected]) for more information.

This is a great opportunity to engage with prospective recruits and show them what we do!

BM1 Hart, First Lieutenant on Key Largo, received a CG Achievement Medal and the "for planning purposes" chart from outside the CO'S Cabin for his dedication to hull preservation and training for the ship. His efforts ensured continued success on the 34 year old asset and directly impacted 25 qualifications.

His positive attitude was a welcomed addition last transfer season. Best of luck in your new role as a Chief Petty Officer onboard CGC Richard Snyder!

Petty Officer Bissonnette was awarded the Commandant's Letter of Commendation for his efforts post transfer from Key Largo.

After transferring to Sector Boston, MK2 Bissonnette returned to Key Largo on temporary orders to help augment the Inport OOD rotation and assist Key Largo's engineers with maintenance and casualty control.

During decommissioning efforts MK2 drove down to the CG Yard to help the crew, and was lauded by the Cutter Transition Fivision for his non-stop efforts.

A crew favorite, MK2 demonstrated why he is a Key Largo shipmate for life!

Recently we said fair winds and following seas to MK1 Montelbano. MK1 was awarded the CG Commendation Medal for his tremendous efforts in the Engineering Department.

A lover of all things Law Enforcement, MK1 acted as one of Key Largo's Law Enforcement Instructors and its Anti Terrorism Officer.

He will be missed, and I'm sure he will miss being a part of Key Largo's final trip. He will be heading to Station Barnegat Light for duty this spring!

Bravo Zulu shipmate!
