Well the Shady Mechanic and the Iron King were out digging before sunrise this morning to capitalize on this cooler weather. I think we set a new daily record for digging 12th Georgia's, AKA 12 gauge shotgun shell headstamps. But a dandy of a button did surface thankfully. Tough day but great company and great weather made it all worthwhile.

This was a neat find near a clothesline. It is inscribed "Harry to Olive 7-20-18". My research on the names and dates for the property came up empty. I wound up getting in contact with the son of the previous property owner. As it would turn out; this was his grandmother's wedding band that was passed down to his mother and he was unaware of it's existence. I couldn't tie Harry or Olive to the property because they had never lived there, it was their daughter who ultimately lost the ring. It was dated to 1918 and thankfully it was recovered. It's now in the possession of the great-granddaughter and is a 4th generation heirloom. Hell of a save.
