The school year is over, but not our winning streak!

Congratulations to Coach Red and the Lady Dukes on a dominant 3-0 regional quarterfinal victory over Dinwiddie High School. Dinwiddie entered the game ranked #59 in Virginia, while Gloucester is currently ranked #30 in the state.

The challenge gets even bigger on Friday morning as the Lady Dukes travel to Northern Virginia to face James Wood High School, currently ranked #17 in the state. The regional semifinal will be played at Woodgrove High School, just outside Washington, D.C., near Leesburg, with first pitch scheduled for 10:00 a.m.

Great teams embrace great challenges, and this group has earned the opportunity to compete with the best. We are proud of these student-athletes, their coaches, and the families and supporters who have been with them every step of the way.

Good luck, Lady Dukes. Gloucester is cheering you on from more than 150 miles away!

The Pride of Dukes

It was a full house at Peasley Middle School as we celebrated our 8th grade students during their promotion ceremony.

A special thank you to Mr. Perry and the Peasley Choir Ensemble for a beautiful performance of Homeward Bound.

Eighth grader Pheren Tench delivered a memorable solo that captured the moment perfectly.

Congratulations to the Class of 2030!

We are proud of your accomplishments and look forward to all that lies ahead!!!

Last night’s pinning ceremony was a powerful reminder that Career and Technical Education changes lives and, in some cases, saves them.

Students in our Medical Science Academy EMT, CNA, and Personal Care Technician programs were pinned by family members, mentors, and healthcare professionals who helped guide them on their journey. The tradition of legacy pinning represents the passing of knowledge, service, and responsibility from one generation to the next.

Our EMT program, led by Payton Burr, and our CNA and Personal Care Technician program, led by Suzanne Nester, have built a culture of excellence that is recognized throughout the region. These programs do far more than prepare students for careers. They prepare students to serve others when it matters most.

One of our EMT students recently responded to a 911 call and helped restart a patient’s heart, contributing to a life being saved. Think about that for a moment. A Gloucester student used skills learned in high school to help save a human life.

CTE programs are often discussed in terms of workforce development, certifications, and career pathways. Those things matter. But sometimes the impact is even greater.

Sometimes CTE programs save lives.

Gloucester County Public Schools is proud to offer one of only nine Medical Science Academies in Virginia. Most importantly, we are proud of the students, teachers, families, and community partners who make these opportunities possible.

Congratulations to our newly pinned EMTs, CNAs, and Personal Care Technicians. Your commitment to serving others represents the very best of Gloucester.

GO DUKES!!!
