Most smoke detectors now have a 10 Year battery but you should still test it and check the date. Also, check your fire extinguishers to make sure the gauge is still in the green. Pick it up and make sure the powder hasn't settled. If it has it will be bottom heavy. If that's the case give us a call and we will check it for you!
