(2)

originally formed from the Samaritan Group and in 1992 was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. In 2022, the organization rebranded itself as "Rural Housing Partnership" (RHP) in an effort to expand services outside the current service area. . While our primary focus of providing Safe, Warm, Accessible and Dry homes for the local indigent population

remains, we have expanded our mission to include home repair for income restricted 62 and older individuals, vital housing options for a vibrant community, and historical renovation. We receive referrals from the Gloucester County Department of Social Services, Healthy Families, Bay Aging, other community organizations, and from citizens of the County who are simply concerned about their neighbors. In 2022, Rural Housing Partnership was successful in processing 74 applications for help with home repair projects. This is a 53% increase over 2021. Rural Housing Partnership is led by an Executive Director and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
