Glouster Street Department is located on Water St near the Fire Department. Dumpsters will be located behind the Street Department building. All items will be accepted for disposal other than the items mentioned on flyer. Household trash is defined as your weekly residential waste put out for collection.

Thomas E. Hogue, age 51 of Glouster, was arrested on Saturday April 29, 2023, by the Glouster Police Department after an ex*****on of a search warrant at the addresses of 7 ½ Braun Street and 1 Summit Street in the Village of Glouster. A search warrant was obtained after the Glouster Police Department stopped Hogue in his vehicle and found narcotics and a large amount of cash. Officers have been receiving information that a large amount of drugs would be present in his home and that Hogue was actively selling illegal drugs to citizens in the area. After the conclusion of the search, a large amount of Ma*****na, Xanax, and Co***ne were found inside the residence. Also located in the residence were several items that are commonly used to sell and distribute illegal drugs.
The Glouster Police Department would like to give special thanks to the following who assisted with the investigation and ex*****on of the search warrant: Chief Inv. Jay Barrett and Inv. Reuben Kittle from the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office, Sheriff Rodney Smith and Deputy Hornbeck with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, Agents with the Southeast Major Crimes Task Force, Prosecuting Attorney Keller Blackburn and Assistant Prosecutor Meg Saunders with the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Village of Glouster Street Department.

COMING SOON: NATIONAL DRUG TAKE BACK DAY APRIL 22, 2023 11-1 (LOCATIONS TO BE ANNOUNCED)

The Athens County Sheriff's Office would like to announce the upcoming National Drug Take Back Day on April 22, 2023. The Sheriff's Office will partner with our SALT (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) Division, Walmart of Athens, the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine Anesthesiology Club, Glouster Police Department, and the Albany Police Department for National Drug Take Back Day and National DO Day of Service. Deputies and volunteers will set up at various locations in the county for your convenience. Please stay tuned for confirmed locations near you! These will be announced prior to April 22.

Derek Lee age 32 of Redford, Michigan was arrested Friday April 7, 2023, by Ofc. Joshua Dixon of the Glouster Police Department. Ofc. Dixon conducted a routine traffic stop after observing the vehicle travel left of center. Throughout the traffic stop criminal indicators were observed. A probable cause search was conducted resulting in L*D, Ecstasy, and other illegal drugs. Also located in the vehicle were supplies used to package and distribute illegal drugs, $4000 cash, and a 9mm handgun. Derek Lee was charged with Drug Trafficking, a Felony of the Fifth Degree and Weapons Under Disability a Felony of the Third Degree. Derek Lee was arrested and transported to the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail.

Tomasena Vanhorn, 34, of Glouster, Ohio, was arrested on March 23, 2023. Officers were on routine patrol when they observed a female who was known to have an active arrest warrant. During a search, methamphetamine was located. This case will be presented to an Athens County Grand Jury as soon as the evidence is tested, and labs are received.

On March 23, 2023, a search warrant was executed at 29 Maple Street, Glouster, Ohio. Information had been received that drug trafficking was being conducted from this address. In addition, this residence has been under investigation for unclean habitation for the living conditions and trash on the property. At approximately 7:22 pm, Officers with the Glouster Police Department, Investigators with the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office, Agents with the Southeast Major Crimes Task Force, the Athens County Sheriff SRT team, and deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office secured the property of 29 Maple Street and conducted a search for illegal drugs and narcotics. Located by the team was suspected Fentanyl and Methamphetamine. The following individuals were arrested and transported to the regional jail:
1. Dwayne Johnson age 43- arrested and charged with drug trafficking.
2. Bonnie Kasler age 61- arrested and charged with Permitting Drug Abuse.
3. Herbert Boudinot age 59- arrested and held on an APA holder.
The Glouster Police Department would like to give a special thanks to the following: Prosecuting Attorney Keller Blackburn, Chief Investigator Jay Barrett, Investigator Trent Eskey, Data Analyst Lexi Gogel, and Assistant Prosecutor Meg Saunders all with the Athens County Prosecutors Office for their continued assistance and support.
