We would like to thank all that assisted in today’s potential disaster.

As many of you heard, shortly after 1:00pm today Glover Ambulance was dispatched to a reported airplane crash atop Mt. Pisgah in Westmore. Glover EMS arrived on scene shortly along with Vermont State Police, Orleans county sheriffs Dept, Vermont Fish and Wildlife and Westmore Fire Dept.

Unified command was established and several surrounding agencies were requested to the scene including Lyndon Rescue, Orleans Ambulance and Newport Ambulance. North Country Hospital was also notified.

Additional resources were called from Charleston Fire, West Burke Remote Rescue, East Burke Fire, Sutton Fire, as well as Glover EMS second ambulance and Glover EMS command trailer.

Command decision to request assistance from Coventry Airport Aviation Division, Civilian aircraft, Vermont State Police UAS (Drone) team, Vermont Department of Public Safety Search and Rescue Coordinator, Vermont Division of Fire Safety and the Vermont Air Guard.

All these units coupled with bystanders reports and “hasty” teams on foot did not find evidence of a crash.

After some time, it was confirmed a hiker had dropped their cell phone activating a crash alert.

Once this was confirmed, all units cleared the scene.

Again we thank our partners for their rapid response and we are thankful it turned out to be a false alarm.

It’s been a very busy couple weeks. Some patients are better than others.
