Glover Fire Department would like to extend our sincere condolences to Assistant Chief Bartlett and the entire department on their loss.

The members of HFD express our deepest condolences to the family of one of our own. Assistant Chief Bartlett unexpectedly lost his son Christopher last night. Anyone who has spent time around our fire house would have likely met Christopher. Christopher was always smiling, asking about calls, monitoring the radio and enjoying life. Christopher was a part of HFD his entire life and he will be missed by all.

As our nation celebrates America's 250th Birthday, the members of the Glover Fire Department are proud to join communities across the country in honoring two and a half centuries of freedom, service, and sacrifice.

For generations, firefighters have answered the call to protect their neighbors, carrying forward the same spirit of dedication and selfless service that has helped define our nation since 1776. We are grateful for those who came before us and for the opportunity to continue serving the Town of Glover with pride and commitment.

To commemorate this historic milestone, the official Glover Fire Department “America's 250th Birthday” logo will proudly adorn each of our fire apparatus beginning with the Fourth of July celebrations and will remain displayed through the end of 2026 as we join in celebrating this once-in-a-generation anniversary.

We hope this special logo serves as a reminder of our department's enduring commitment to our community and our nation's enduring values of courage, service, and unity.

From all of us at the Glover Fire Department, we wish everyone a safe, happy, and memorable Independence Day and look forward to celebrating America's 250th Birthday together throughout the rest of the year.

Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸🚒

***** EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2026 *****

A change in Vermont Statute goes into effect on July 1, 2026 that eliminates the current Fire Warden in each town and replaces them with the local fire chief. The statute allows for the Fire Chief (the "new" Fire Warden) to appoint Deputy Fire Wardens. In the interest of keeping within the current setup for the town of Glover, the new "Deputy Fire Wardens" will be the current Fire Warden Bob Richards and the current Deputy Fire Warden Riley Brooks. The only change will be if the need arises for any enforcement action for an unpermitted burn, it MUST be handled by the fire warden and not a deputy.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO CALL BOB RICHARDS - 525-4416 or 673-6616 AND/OR RILEY BROOKS - 673-6257 to obtain burn permits for the Town of Glover just like you have been. You may call the fire station - 525-3400 - and your call MAY be answered but it would be easier to call the deputy wardens directly. For those wishing to speak with the fire warden/fire chief, you can reach Phil Brooks at 673-4030. There will be some other minor changes coming in the near future and we are still learning what those may be and the implementation of them. Thanks for your understanding.
