👨‍🚒From Godley Fire Chief Thompson...."Godley residents, the smoke everyone is seeing currently is related to the Ross Fire in Palo Pinto. There are no current active fires in our immediate vicinity".🔥

🧑‍🚒🚒❤️The City of Godley Fire Department has currently deployed staff to the "Ross Fire"; with that said, if you are looking to make water/ snacks, donations you can take those donations to the Godley Fire Station No. 1 at this time.

Donations will be transported to the "Ross Fire" location for all the Firefighters working .😘

Please keep our staff and the other Firefighters in your thoughts!

A PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2026 AT 6:30 PM ON THE FY26-27 ANNUAL BUDGET, 200 WEST RAILROAD STREET, GODLEY, TEXAS 76044.

This budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year’s budget by an amount of $176,704, which is a 3.73% percent increase from last year’s budget. The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $488,114.

A PUBLIC MEETING TO VOTE ON THE PROPOSED TAX RATE WILL BE HELD ON September 15, 2026 AT 6:30 PM AT the City of Godley, City Hall, Council Chambers, 200 W. Railroad Avenue, Godley,
TX 76044.

The proposed tax rate is also not greater than the voter-approval tax rate. As a result, City of Godley is not required to hold an election to seek voter approval of the rate.

However, you may express your support for or opposition to the proposed tax rate by contacting the members of the City Council of City of Godley or by attending the public meeting mentioned above.
