UPDATE: We understand that not everyone will agree with this year's change of theme, and we respect that. Our decision wasn't about politics - it was about honoring the wishes of the original creator of this event and community member Jim Beauchemin. Since this may be the final Giant Pumpkin Weigh-off & Regatta we ever hold due to the dam coming down, we felt it was important to celebrate it the way he wanted. More than anything, we hope everyone can come together to honor his legacy and enjoy one last great event.

After a lot of excitement and due to popular demand, we've decided to take this year's event in a different direction. In honor of our nation's 250th anniversary, this year's Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off & Regatta will now celebrate America 250! We're excited to recognize this once-in-a-generation milestone with a day full of giant pumpkins, hometown pride, community spirit, and plenty of patriotic fun.
We know many of you were looking forward to our previously announced Jurassic theme, and we truly appreciate your enthusiasm. But we think this new theme is a fitting way to make this year's event even more memorable - and we hope to use our prior Jurassic theme for next year's event.
We can't wait to share more details in the coming weeks, including activities and ways you can join in the celebration. We hope you'll help us make this an unforgettable America 250 Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off & Regatta!
