Spring Severe Weather Preparedness Week – Illinois 🌧️
Spring in Illinois brings warmer days, green fields… and the very real threat of severe weather. Tornadoes, straight-line winds, hail, heavy rain, and flash flooding can develop quickly and without much warning.
Now is the time to prepare — not when the sirens are sounding.
Take a few minutes this week to:
✔️ Review your family emergency plan
✔️ Know where your safe place is at home and at work
✔️ Check your weather radio and replace the batteries
✔️ Make sure you can receive emergency alerts on your phone
✔️ Put together or refresh your emergency kit
In our part of Illinois, we’ve seen how fast the weather can change. Being prepared isn’t about fear — it’s about being ready.
When storms roll in, seconds matter. Preparation today means protection tomorrow.
Stay weather aware. Stay safe.
