A message from Curry County Aquatic Safety.

It has been a very busy holiday week with people enjoying our wonderful waterways. As the forecast for very hot weather runs through the weekend and into next week, we ask that everyone takes water safety precautions:

☀️Know your limitations
☀️Have a buddy system, never swim alone
☀️ Always wear your lifejacket when boating or swimming in strong current.
☀️Familiarize yourself with your surroundings
☀️ Don’t drink and swim/boat

Have a great weekend!

A scorching week is forecast, so plan ahead and wear your life jacket! Enjoy Oregon's beautiful waterways with respect. Wear a life jacket when boating and swimming because our waters are cold and there isn't time to put one on in an emergency.

Check out our interactive maps and apps to help plan where to go, where there are reported obstructions and plan based on your skill level with the conditions.

An important message from Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative.

Enhanced CCEC System Settings for Safety

With the arrival of high winds and dry weather, Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative, Inc. has taken precautionary measures by setting our system's protective equipment to the highest sensitivity level. Essentially, this means that if a fault occurs, like a tree limb falling on a power line, our system will automatically de-energize the line to prevent electricity flow, similar to how a household circuit breaker operates. While this setting may occasionally lead to more temporary outages, it significantly reduces the risk of potential fire hazards.

We understand that power outages can be inconvenient and we sincerely appreciate your patience. Please know that our dedicated team is fully prepared to respond promptly to any outage and restore power as safely and quickly as possible.

In the event of a power outage, please call our outage hotline at (866) 352-9044. This is the ONLY way CCEC can relay outage information to dispatch.

Once again, we thank you for your understanding!
