MISSION STATEMENT/PURPOSE OF AGENCY:
The Gold Beach Senior Center provides both congregate and homebound meals for seniors 60 years of age or over and their spouses of any age who may eat improperly due to financial limitations, lack of incentive, illness, limited mobility or any other factors that may affect their ability to select and prepare nourishing well-balanced meals. THE FOUR MAIN GOALS O

F THE GOLD BEACH SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM ARE:

• TO PROVIDE NUTRITIOUS MEALS IN A GROUP SETTING
• TO ENCOURAGE SOCIAL INTERACTION AND TO REDUCE ISOLATION
• TO PROVIDE OTHER SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO PARTICIPANTS
• TO PROVIDE HOME BOUND MEALS TO HOMEBOUND INDIVIDUALS SEVEN DAYS A WEEK WITH THE MEALS ON WHEELS DELIVERY PROGRAM


In addition to providing meals, the Senior Nutrition Program attempts to provide access to other support services such as Transportation, Information and Assistance, Telephone Reassurance and other services which include: Friendly visitation, Outreach, Nutrition Education, Exercise or Physical fitness, Wellness Education, Health and Welfare counseling, Crime Prevention/Home Safety, and Health Nutrition Screening.
