Chief Lafont would like to thank Mr. Frank Boura and all members of the Rotary Club of Golden Meadow for their donation to the department.

The new vests will provide officers with a better, more comfortable fit than the previous style. With the better fit and quality, officers will have better mobility when performing tasks on patrol and longer lasting uniform conditions.

Our club supports our local law enforcement and first responders. We have donated to the Golden Meadow Police Department new bulletproof vests and carriers. Pictured are President Frank Boura and Chief Michelle Lafont.

TROOP C TRAFFIC ADVISORY
July 17, 2026

Lafourche Parish – Louisiana State Police and other first responders are on the scene at Louisiana Highway 308, just north of the Belle Vue Bridge in Lockport, due to structural issues with a small bridge in that location. All through traffic must detour to LA Highway 1.

Please adjust your travel plans and expect delays. The duration of the closure is unknown at this time.

For road closure information, motorists can utilize the Louisiana 511 system by visiting www.511la.org or downloading the Louisiana 511 mobile app.

Over the 4th Of July weekend and the weekends surrounding, officers with the Golden Meadow Police Department have seized large quantities of illegal narcotics, to include ma*****na and dried mushrooms (psilocybin), from multiple individuals

Chief Lafont would like to remind the community of the agencies continued commitment to keeping the Town of Golden Meadow and its residents safe.

Chief Lafont further urges the community to be safe and practice sound decision making.
