Today is Military Appreciation Day at the Minnesota State Fair.

Thank you to every veteran, service member, and military family. You earned more than we can express.

The greatest sign of appreciation is making sure we only use the military sparingly and only with Congress’s authority!

This is a clip from Rebecca Whiting’s speech on Memorial Day at the Libertarian National Convention

“Our common enemy is the war machine and a drive to make it stop” - Rebecca Whiting

She’s a two-tour Army combat medic who served in Ramadi and Baghdad. She didn’t study war from a distance. She treated the wounded.

American lives should never be treated casually by political leaders.

Watch the reel. Then help send a combat medic to the Senate.

Peace. Freedom. Transparency. Choice. Privacy.

More parties. More fun. 🎡

That’s the State Fair. It should be the ballot too!

Chip Tangen is at the bright yellow LPMN booth TODAY.

He’s running for Secretary of State so independent and minor-party candidates can actually reach the ballot so voters get more than two options.

45% of Americans identify as independents (Gallup, Jan 2026). Minnesota’s ballot access laws are among the least progressive.

Chip’s platform is Integrity and Choice: open the process so more voices can compete.

Find the yellow booth on the west side of Nelson, at Judson & Nelson. The DNR exhibit is right behind us.

No lecture. Just a conversation about more choices on the ballot.

Rebecca is at the yellow LPMN booth TODAY! Come talk and hear her vision for representing Minnesotan’s!

“No more wars. Unless the United States is attacked, we have no business using our military in foreign countries.”
— Rebecca Whiting, campaign website (whiting4senate.us)

She’s a two tour Army combat medic who served in Ramadi and Baghdad. Peace and an End to Forever Wars is the first pillar of her U.S. Senate campaign.

Find the bright yellow LPMN booth on the west side of Nelson, at Judson & Nelson. The DNR exhibit is right behind us.

While you’re there, ask her about all five campaign pillars:
1. Peace and an End to Forever Wars
2. Farm, Food, and Community Freedom
3. Radical Government Transparency
4. Fair Ballot Access and Political Competition
5. Privacy and Freedom from Government Surveillance

Peace. Freedom. Transparency. Choice. Privacy.
No lecture. Just a conversation.

Chip Tangen compared winning a golden bracelet on the prize wheel to the odds of living in a Minnesota legislative district where you can actually vote for a third-party or independent candidate.

In too many districts, voters get two choices or none!

As Secretary of State, Chip will work to improve those odds so more voices can reach the ballot and voters get a real choice.

An independent referee isn’t wearing either team’s jersey. That’s how you open the process.

Don’t spy on me. 🛑

Flock cameras log your license plate, your car, and your daily routes! Often with no warrant and no probable cause! Cities across Minnesota are already backing away and rightfully so.

Columbia Heights canceled its contract. St. Paul is removing its city owned cameras. More communities are asking the same question: why track every driver?

If you’re at the State Fair TODAY, come talk about it at the bright yellow LPMN booth.

Brian Paulson for New Prague and Chip Tangen for Secretary of State will be there.

Brian’s campaign is clear on this. From his site:

“I will push for real transparency, consistent public input, and full compliance with open meeting and data practices requirements. This includes addressing concerns with systems like Flock surveillance cameras that track residents’ movements and the raw data collected is owned by a private company, not controlled by the City.” — brianpaulsonfornewprague.com

Find the yellow booth on the west side of Nelson, at Judson & Nelson. The DNR exhibit is right behind us.

No lecture. Just a conversation about privacy, limited government, and who actually owns the data collected on ordinary Minnesotans.

Look closely at Chip Tangen’s wheel at the State Fair.

Almost every slice is the same story: Democrat or Republican. Some slices are even thinner than that.... Single Choice, meaning only one candidate made the ballot.

There is one yellow slice. Just one.

Those are the only legislative races in Minnesota this year with a third-party or independent candidate on the ballot:

Districts 2, 11, 39, 44B, 47B, and 49.
That’s it. Six races.

The rest of the wheel is two parties or one name.
Chip Tangen, our candidate for Secretary of State, built this wheel to show what ballot access actually looks like in Minnesota!

He’s running so more independents and third-party candidates can get on the ballot, and so the person who runs our elections isn’t picked by one of the two major parties.

Stop by the LPMN booth, spin the wheel, see which slice you land on and get a wristband.

Full-circle moment at the Fair 🎡

Chip Tangen met Rich Kleinow who is Minnesota’s first Libertarian ever to appear on the ballot! (Governor, 1974)

One thing they share: both had to petition just to get their names on the ballot.

Same ordeal, 52 years later.

Major-party candidates file and pay a fee.

While Independent and minor-party candidates get 14 days to collect wet-ink signatures (2,000 for statewide office, 500 for the legislature.) No online option.

Result: only 3% of legislative races even have a third-party or independent on the ballot.

Chip is running for Secretary of State so this doesn’t keep happening!

If you’re at the Fair today, swing by the yellow LPMN booth, corner of Judson & Nelson, by the DNR. Come talk about real solutions for expanding choices at the voters box!

Such an honor to meet Rich Kleinow, our party’s very first candidate to appear on the ballot! He ran for governor in 1974. What an exciting time for the Libertarian Party it must have been.

He was the first Libertarian to petition his way onto the ballot, and this year I was the last Libertarian to turn in petitions to get on the ballot. Hopefully this will be the final time Libertarian candidates and volunteers have to go through that ordeal!

Navy veteran. Engineer. Dad from North St. Paul.

TJ Hawthorne isn’t waiting for the two parties to give 44B permission to have a real choice! He’s showing up, speaking up, and running as an Independent for Minnesota House District 44B.

No party loyalty. No party agenda. Just a local problem solver fighting to:

✅Defend the Guard
✅Cut unnecessary licensing red tape
✅Fix family courts with equal parenting time
✅Stop emergency overreach
✅Protect food sovereignty

Voters in North St. Paul, Oakdale, and the rest of 44B deserve someone who works for them, not a team jersey!
