Through community building, lectures, social activism, and discussion we expand our member’s awareness gain an understanding of the issues facing the world and provide learning opportunities through guest speakers on a variety of topics.

The Department of Defense has just reduced the military's list of recognized religious labels down to 31. Of those, 21 are Christian denominations. The 29% of Americans who are atheist, agnostic, humanist, secular, freethinker, questioning, heathen, or unaffiliated have the ✨luxury✨ of choosing between "agnostic" and "no religious affiliation".

If you're wondering whether there was any logic to this decision...there wasn't.

The refusal to recognize religious diversity will make life harder for service members, and the lack of detailed information about service member demographics will make it much more difficult for military clergy to do their jobs. Basically, this harms everyone, and helps no one. Classic Hegseth.

Church-state separation isn't anti-religion. It's the reason everyone — believer or not — gets to live and believe as they choose. It protects all beliefs equally, including yours.

The Department of Defense used to recognize well over 200 religions. Now it recognizes 31, 22 of which are Christian denominations. "Atheist" and "humanist" are not recognized.

We call for the restoration of the list of 211 faiths and beliefs, and we demand accountability for this attempt to curtail the religious freedom of our service members.
