We’re looking forward to an upcoming workshop focused on strengthening interregional power transfers, improving planning and operational coordination, and supporting reliable, efficient grid operations.

This event brings together representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy, NLR, NERC, FERC, and the Brattle Group to discuss recent studies, policies, and best practices. Sessions will cover NLR transmission research, NLR open-source Sienna software, interregional coordination studies, and HVDC operations and transmission losses.

This is a great opportunity to offer feedback, hear from leaders across the sector, and engage directly with experts shaping the future of grid reliability and interregional collaboration.

Looking forward to the discussion! Register today. https://bit.ly/4qzb488

NLR researchers teamed up with Grant County Public Utility District to investigate whether coordination among multiple Mid-Columbia dam operators with different needs and goals would boost performance and productivity systemwide—and, if so, who would benefit. Results of their advanced modeling revealed all seven dams generate more energy and higher revenues with fully coordinated operations.
