⚠ Tiers of Zion Upper Tier Closure: The upper tier of Tiers of Zion will be closed from mid-August through mid-October for maintenance work. Work will occur on a rotational schedule, with the upper tier open every Sunday.

When the orange construction fence is in place and the closure sign is posted, the upper tier is closed and may not be accessed. Please follow all posted closure signs and fencing for your safety.

Fire Restrictions Update

Effective today, August 18, 2026, Jefferson County Sheriff Reggie Marinelli has rescinded the temporary Stage 2 Fire Ban and reinstated Stage 1 Fire Restrictions for all unincorporated areas of Jefferson County.

Despite recent monsoonal moisture we still have persistent drought conditions, along with dry vegetation and soils, which continue to create a risk of wildfire growth. Elevated national preparedness levels may also limit resources available for new wildfire incidents.

Please remember:
• Denver Mountain Parks and Jefferson County Parks and Open Space remain under a year-round Stage 2 Fire Ban.
• Restrictions on nearby municipal, county and federal lands may differ or change in the coming days and weeks.

Calling all 3rd through 5th grade homeschoolers! Join Jefferson County Parks & Open Space for a fun day of outdoor exploration, hands-on discovery, and Colorado history.

Become an Ecosystem Investigator for the day! Hike the foothills, discover local plants and wildlife, and learn how to be a better steward of nature. After a bring-your-own picnic lunch (restrooms and water available), travel back in time to explore how the Ute people used science, technology, engineering, and math to thrive in the Rocky Mountains through hands-on activities.

This engaging Homeschool Day combines outdoor adventure with Colorado history while supporting state standards. Parents or guardians must remain with their child throughout the program.
