Don't Fall For SCAMS

We have had 2 reported scams recently. Both are by phone.

1. The caller says they are from local Law Enforcement, they tell the person that they have a warrant and they can pay with a debit or credit card to get the warrant taken care of.

2. The caller says that they are from Border Patrol or DEA and tell the person that their name was found on packages of drugs near the border, and that they can take care of the warrant for their arrest with a debit or credit card.

Do not fall for it, these and contacts like these, are total scams. KCSO nor any other law enforcement agency is going to call you about paying for a warrant. These are fake "cops".

A 911 call came in about a man in distress on the Columbia River. He was in need of emergency rescue and at risk of drowning. Klickitat County Sheriffs Marine Patrol Deputies launched the rescue boat and searched for the man. They just now located him and brought him on board alive. No further details at this time. A huge thank you to the Sheriffs Deputies and to the Klickitat County Dispatchers for your calm professional communication during this high stress call. ⚠️ There is a HEAT ADVISORY in effect until 10pm Friday. Afternoon temperatures around 95° to 105°. This will pose a moderate to major risk of heat-related illnesses. UPDATE 11:50 It appears the rouge bulls have been caught, be safe, ya never know what might happen. Hopefully the next time we see them will be at the Klickitat County Fair and Rodeo

UPDATE 11:35am: The bulls are now running around town, do not be on foot if they see you it could be very dangerous.

There are currently 2 bulls with horns running loose by the Nazarene Church across from the courthouse. They appear to be aggressive. Stay out of the area please.
