Haystack Butte Fire Evacuation Notification Update - May 30th, 2026, 8:45PM. The Haystack Butte Fire Level Two, “Get Set” Evacuation Notification previously sent this evening has been rescinded.

There are currently no active evacuation alerts in Klickitat County

There is an active wildfire north of Highway 14 in Klickitat County. It began at approximately 5:00 pm near Mile Post 95. It is moving north and east due to high winds.

A Level 2 “Get Set” evacuation notification was issued at approx. 6:30 p.m. The evacuation map as well as a hyperlink to the live interactive map can be found on the Klickitat County Emergency Management webpage.

Rail Car Derailment reported shortly after 1:00am , Friday, May 29th, 2026 in the vicinity of HWY 14 Mile Marker 110 in Klickitat County. Approximately 15-20 EMPTY rail cars were involved. There are no reported injuries, spills, leaks, or road blockages. We are currently unaware what caused the incident
