Update to Previous Avery Fire Evacuation Notifications:

August 27th, 2026, 8:30AM - The previous Level 2 and 1 Evacuation Notifications associated with the Avery Fire have been rescinded.

Klickitat County residents should continue to monitor this page, and the Klickitat County and/or Department of Emergency Mangement's Webpages for future updates

There are No Active Evacuation Notifications within Klickitat County, and the Red Cross Shelter located at the Klickitat County Fairgrounds has been closed

Avery Fire Evacuation Levels Update - Aug 27th, 2025 - 12:15am

Due to the Fire Fighting efforts, and Current and Forecasted Weather Conditions, Evcauations Levels Associated with the Avery Fire have been downgraded to the following levels

- Vicinity Avery Park - Level 2 - Get Set
- Wishram Heights - Level 2 - Get Set
- Wishram - Level 1 - Get Ready

As fire and weather conditions could potentially change, You should plan to evacuate at a moment's notice, or evacuate now if you feel unsafe.

Evacuees should not travel Westbound on Highway 14 due to smoke and First Responders in the area.

Due to changing conditions and fire behaivor, the Wishram Hieghts Evcuation Level has been UPGRADED to Level 3 - GO NOW

Those who are Evacuating should travel East on HWY 14, as westbound traffic is dangerous due to smoke, fire and First Responders on the road way

A temporary shelter is being established, once a location is finalized, an update will be sent and posted
