🚌Your Child's Safest Journey to School Starts With You!
Every morning, you let your child out the door and hope they make it to the bus stop safely. Every afternoon, you wait for them to come home. But here's the thing: The bus stop is one of the most dangerous parts of their school day.

What You Need to Know:

Your presence matters. Your attention saves lives. Before your kids reach that bus stop, teach them this:

✔️ Get there early and wait in a safe spot away from the road
✔️ Never run toward the bus (drivers can't always see them)
✔️ Stay 10 feet back until the bus comes to a complete stop
✔️ Always cross in front of the bus where the driver can see you

Your presence at the bus stop says one thing to your child: "You matter. Your safety matters."
Be there. Teach them. Stay alert.

You probably wouldn't pick up a stranger on the side of the road, so why pick up a car seat you don't know? If you don't know the history, the seat could have been in a crash or sustained damage you don't see. Don't take a chance, avoid picking up the trash!

🔥Every day, your child scrolls through videos, follows trends, and connects with friends online. Not every video is real. Not every trend is safe. And a poorly planned "cooking hack" can quickly start a fire if it falls into the wrong hands.

🍳Online, we see fake cooking videos, AI-generated "life hacks", or even dangerous challenges all designed to target your children. And they can put themselves, and your home, in harm's way.

Parents & Educators, talk to your kids about online safety and fire risks. Five minutes at home or in a class could prevent a house fire started by a viral trend.

Remember, your awareness of what your child sees online is the first step in preventing a tragedy. Before your kids try anything they see online, talk to them about this:

✔️ Not all cooking videos are real! Some are AI-generated or fake, and cannot be accomplished in real life.
✔️ "Life hacks" that seem cool can be dangerously wrong. Always check the facts and do diligent research from various sources.
✔️ Never try a trend involving fire, stoves, or cooking without asking a trusted adult first

As students head back to school in North Carolina, let's prioritize our safety on the road together! 📚✨
Learn more about NC OSFM's Community Risk Reduction (CRR), linked in the comments below!

🚗 Drivers: Please reduce your speed in school zones. Stay alert for crossing guards and watch for children who may unexpectedly enter the road.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents: Familiarize yourself with your child's route. Teach them about traffic safety and ensure they are properly secured in a car seat or seat belt on every journey.

🎒 Students: Stay focused, follow the rules, and never be afraid to ask safety questions.

A safe school year begins when we all contribute! To learn more about community risk reduction, visit our website in the comments below:

🌡️ FINAL UPDATE! 🍪🚗

Outside temperature: 91°F real feel 107°F
Inside the vehicle: 127°F 🔥

And the cookies? BAKED. DONE. 🍪😳

This demonstration shows just how quickly the temperature inside a vehicle can become dangerously hot—even when it may not feel that extreme outside.

Never leave a child, pet, or vulnerable person in a parked vehicle. Not even for a minute. ❤️

🔥 HOT CAR SAFETY UPDATE! 🔥

It’s 92° outside with a real feel of 106° … and a scorching 120° inside the vehicle! 🥵🚗

WOW! Our cookie experiment is showing just how quickly temperatures can rise inside a vehicle—even when the outside temperature doesn’t seem that extreme.

Those cookies are getting baked… and this is exactly why children and pets should NEVER be left alone in a vehicle. ❤️

Look before you lock! 👀🔑

🌡️ HOT CAR SAFETY DEMO UPDATE! 🍪

It’s now 89° outside with a real feel of 100°, and the temperature inside the vehicle is 114°. 🥵

And our cookies are almost ready! 🍪🔥

This is a powerful reminder that a vehicle can become dangerously hot even when the outside temperature doesn’t seem extreme. Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle—even for “just a few minutes.”

Look before you lock. ❤️
