The Habitat ReStore supports those efforts through the sale of donated household goods, furniture, construction

WELCOME TO THE HABITAT TEAM, JAVIER!

We are so excited to officially welcome Javier Murillo to Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne as our new Community Engagement & Volunteer Coordinator!

Javier brings a wealth of experience in Human Services, a heart for serving others, and a passion for connecting people with opportunities to make a difference in their community. We feel incredibly blessed to have him joining our team!

And the timing couldn’t be more perfect. As we continue making progress at McNair Heights, we are laying the foundation for something amazing, but we need YOU to serve alongside us as we build homes, community, and hope.

WELCOME HOME, WARREN FAMILY!

Today, we celebrate a milestone that means so much to all of us-the closing of the very FIRST HOME in McNair Heights!

The Warren family has put in the work every step of the way building not only a home for herself, but helping build a stronger community for her neighbors. From completing financial literacy courses and learning labs to putting in sweat equity and doing everything required to make homeownership a reality, she has shown determination, perseverance, and an incredible commitment to her family’s future.

When asked what this home means to her, she shared:

“This home means more to me than anyone will ever know. I am breaking generational chains and purchasing a home that my children can thrive in.”

That is what affordable homeownership is all about. It’s more than four walls and a roof. It’s stability. It’s opportunity. It’s hope. It’s a foundation for generations to come. We couldn’t be prouder of the Warren family and are incredibly grateful to every volunteer, donor, partner, and supporter who helped make this moment possible.

A new chapter could be just around the corner! Our Homeowner Application Portal opens Tuesday, September 1, and we’re excited to begin the next step with families who are ready to pursue affordable homeownership with Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne.

Apply electronically: The application portal will be available online, and we’ll share the application link right here on our social media once the portal opens.
Prefer paper? Paper applications will also be available for pickup at our office.

While you wait for the portal to open, we strongly encourage you to review the list of required documents and begin gathering your information. We are celebrating some incredible progress at McNair Heights! While our team puts the finishing touches on our first completed home, infrastructure work is also nearing completion, and we couldn’t be more excited to see the vision for this community becoming a reality.

What began as a vision for a vibrant, mixed-income neighborhood is quickly taking shape right before our eyes. Every home, every road, and every step forward opens the door to opportunity, stability, and hope for our neighbors and our community.

We are so incredibly blessed by the support, generosity, and partnerships that are making McNair Heights possible. Together, we are building more than houses, we are building a community where families can thrive.
