Our ECA ladies gathered again this year for another meaningful time of fellowship, service, and giving back! ❤️🎁

After their regular calendar meeting, members came together to pack 50 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, filling each one with thoughtful gifts to share love, joy, and hope with children around the world.

This project reflects the heart of ECA—bringing members together to make a difference in our communities and beyond. We’re grateful for the time, care, and generosity our members continue to pour into meaningful causes like this one.

And speaking of ECA, don’t forget to mark your calendars for the ECA Christmas Bazaar on November 21st, from 10:00 - 4:00! 🎄🛍️ We look forward to celebrating the season with our community soon!

Celebrating 44 Years of Town & Country ECA! 🎉

Town & Country ECA celebrated its 44th anniversary with a special salad luncheon, honoring Betty Evans (right) and Jewel Grantham (left), the club’s remaining charter members. Pictured between them is Michelle Estrada, County Extension Director, joining in the celebration!

Through educational programs, community service, and opportunities to learn and grow, ECA members continue to make a difference in their community.

Serving our community looks a lot like this! 💚🍪

A few of our Wayne County Extension & Community Association (ECA) members volunteered their time at the Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair to support the Cookies for Change fundraiser. Their willingness to lend a helping hand is just one example of the many ways ECA members stay connected and give back to our community.

MARKET MAKERS IS BACK! 🥳

Wayne County NC Cooperative Extension, Farm Credit Farmers Market, and Wayne County 4-H, NC Cooperative Extension are excited to continue offering Market Makers for the remainder of the Farm Credit Farmers Market season!

This hands-on opportunity gives youth the chance to turn their ideas into a real market experience—developing skills in entrepreneurship, communication, customer service, and money management while connecting with their community.

This morning, our 34 personal supply baskets were delivered to the teachers at Tommy’s Road Elementary.

A heartfelt thank you to our ECA ladies for coming together to make this community service project possible. We are so grateful for the opportunity to support our community in such a meaningful way.

Yesterday, our ECA members gathered for their annual Ice Cream Social 🍦 —a sweet tradition that brings everyone together to reconnect, plan for the year ahead, and celebrate the impact of our organization.

The group also assembled 34 personal supply baskets for the teachers at Tommy's Road Elementary as a small way to show appreciation and support before the new school year begins.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event meaningful. We’re looking forward to another great year with ECA!

Keeping Our Plates Safe: What to Know About the Current Cyclospora Outbreak

Summer is the peak season for fresh, vibrant produce—from crisp salads to sweet berries. As we enjoy our favorite seasonal foods, public health agencies are currently tracking a rise in cases of a foodborne illness called cyclosporiasis, caused by the microscopic parasite Cyclospora. It is important to remember that while this parasite can cause uncomfortable stomach symptoms, it is not life-threatening and is easily treated with standard antibiotics. Because Cyclospora is typically found on raw fruits and vegetables, keeping ourselves safe is mostly about practicing good food hygiene. By taking a few simple, everyday precautions in our kitchens, we can continue to enjoy our fresh summer meals with peace of mind.
