Aspire to Inspire

Seymour Johnson Air Force Base’s 5/6 Council is a non-profit private organization designed to enhance the noncommissioned officer corps on the installation. The council aims to provide network opportunities and grow leaders by focusing on vision and mission values.

Membership is open to all Air Force E-5s and E-6s, including selectees. We hold monthly meetings where NCOs receive information on training and upcoming events. It’s also a chance to discuss concerns and receive peer mentorship. Our primary focus is the professional development of the Air Force’s very core: the Junior NCOs. The council invites guest speakers to our meetings: informational and motivational speakers that aim to educate and mentor our membership. Hosting workshops from Toastmasters to helpful hints on writing 1206 bullets, there are enough volunteer opportunities for every SJAFB 5/6 member.

"This is such a great chance for the younger NCOs to learn from more experienced ones," said Staff Sgt. Swan, SJAFB 5/6 president. "Council activities aren't just a great opportunity to be involved and make a difference, it's also really fun. We always have a good time together and make friends."
