Little over a month ago we were called out for not delivering donuts to our neighbors, the Goldsboro Fire Department. We are glad to say today, National Donut Day, we delivered donuts to the Goldsboro Fire Department.

They're basically firefighter MREs—just add water when hungry. We're not saying this is a bribe for some firehouse chili from that full-service kitchen... but we're not not saying it either. 😏🔥🍩🌶️

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Facebook Marketplace Safety Awareness

The Goldsboro Police Department encourages residents to remain vigilant when buying or selling items through Facebook Marketplace and other online marketplaces.

While many transactions are legitimate, scammers and criminals often use fake profiles, stolen photos, and prices that seem too good to be true to attract victims. Before agreeing to a purchase, take time to review the seller's profile, ask questions about the item, and be cautious of newly created accounts or listings with unusually low prices.

Safety Tips for Online Marketplace Transactions:
• Be wary of deals that appear significantly below market value.
• Verify the identity of buyers and sellers whenever possible.
• Avoid sending money before receiving the item.
• Never share personal or financial information with unknown individuals.
• Trust your instincts—if something feels suspicious, don't meet.
Meet in a Safe Location

For your safety, the Goldsboro Police Department encourages buyers and sellers to conduct transactions in well-lit, public locations. Whenever possible, bring a friend or family member and avoid meeting alone. If you believe you have been the victim of a scam/ crime or encounter suspicious activity related to an online marketplace transaction, contact the Goldsboro Police Department immediately or call 911.

June is Men's Health Awareness Month.

There is often a strong focus on men’s physical health, fitness, annual checkups, and heart health, but mental well-being is equally as important because mental health is health!

This month, let's encourage open conversations, support one another, and remind the men in our lives that it's okay to ask for help when needed. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health.

While June shines a spotlight on men's mental health, the importance of mental wellness extends to everyone. Regardless of age, gender, background, or profession, prioritizing mental health is essential to living a healthy and fulfilling life.

Check in on your friends, family members, coworkers, and neighbors. A simple conversation can make a meaningful difference. You are not alone, and help is always available.
