Here it is !!! Goliad County LEPC & Crisis Planning Committee is committed to making our schools as safe & prepared as possible. The students: our kids, are the future. These "Be Prepared Buckets" will be in EVERY classroom and in EVERY office at ALL Goliad ISD buildings. Not only that, but we will be providing a complete bucket to ALL daycare and alternative school settings as well.

Goliad County LEPC & Crisis Planning is a non-budgeted department. It is run solely off of donations. All monetary donations are placed in a dedicated account and can only be used for projects like this and future needs for the department.

Scan the QR code on the flyer to be taken to an Amazon list of items that will fill the buckets. For anyone that is not Facebook or QR savvy, please feel free to contact the Goliad County EMC office at any time to see how you may be able to help.

What in the world is LEPC?

Local Emergency Planning Committee. The primary role of LEPCs is to develop emergency response plans, enhance hazardous materials preparedness, and provide information about chemicals in the community. This is a federally mandated, state supervised entity established under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act; also known as EPCRA.

Hazardous materials & chemicals is not something that have an abundance of here in our county, but that doesn't mean that we don't have a plan for it.

About 2 years ago, our once very small committee, decided that we saw a need to do more. We decided to vamp things up and "rebrand" as LEPC & Crisis Planning. We are a non-funded County department. Everything we do and plan is done with the hearts of volunteers with the time and donations.

Our once team of 4 has now turned into 15. That is a HUGE step for us. Not only do we work on how to be prepared in all situations, but we also plan on community training, we assist with heaters during the cold months and fans for the scorching days of summer. Currently we are working on projects to supply EVERY classroom in Goliad County the essential items needed in case there is ever a "Shelter in Place". Another project is gathering the possibilities for emergency cabinets filled with lifesaving equipment throughout county. Both of these projects are step forward to better place.

If you ever have any questions, ideas, or concerns, please feel free to call, message, or stop by my office (Located at the Courthouse) at any time during business hours.

The LEPC & Crisis Planning team met this past Friday and boy am I excited for the huge strides we will be making this year! We have an amazing group of team members and every single one of them are excited to support our community.

We have two very important projects that we will be working on over the next couple of months. Be sure to check out the Amazon Wish List.

Project #1- Remember seeing the pictures of the new Emergency Cabinets that were placed in the courthouse and the Frankin St. Annex? We have decided that we need these throughout our community. The library, museum, at every school, and so many more places would greatly benefit from having one of these. If you or your business would like to make a monetary donation or purchase an item from the following wish list, please contact the Goliad County Office of Emergency Management.

Project #2- We all know that our children deserve the best. We want the same care and protection for them wherever they go, just like when they are at home. Our schools are where its starts. Let's make sure that every child in every classroom is safe and protected for any situation. The Goliad County LEPC & Crisis Planning team is making 'Be Prepared Buckets". Our goal is to make a bucket for every classroom, in every school, in Goliad County. If you or your business would like to make a monetary donation or purchase an item from the following wish list, please contact the Goliad County Office of Emergency Management.
