We would like to give a big thanks to our neighbor fire station Schroeder volunteer fire department for sharing their drinking water with our department! They were awarded the Anheiser bush drinking water grant this year and were happy to spread the wealth! We appreciate your support!

🚨 BURN BAN NOW IN EFFECT — GOLIAD COUNTY 🚨

County Judge Mike Bennett has issued a Declaration of Local State of Disaster prohibiting all outdoor burning in unincorporated Goliad County, effective today, August 24, 2026.

🔥 No outdoor burning
🎆 No fireworks sales
⚠️ Violations are a Class C misdemeanor, up to a $500 fine

Exceptions apply for firefighter training, utility/pipeline work, ag operations, and certified prescribed burns.

Please help us keep our community safe — one spark can undo everything. Stay safe out there!

Texas A&M Forest Service has raised the Wildland Fire Preparedness Level to Level 3.

Recent and forecast wildfire activity, ongoing resource commitments, and the potential for lightning ignitions across the High Plains today and tomorrow are contributing to elevated fire risk. Strong outflow winds associated with thunderstorms may also result in periods of increased fire behavior and resistance to control on existing wildfires.

We continue to monitor the situation and stand ready to respond to any requests for assistance.

We want to give a huge thank you to Crossroads Country Trash service for their generosity in providing trash service at no cost to our department!! This will be a huge help to our volunteers since we used to have to carry all of the departments trash home to dispose of. This is what community helping the community is all about!

Please be careful driving in this wet weather! It doesn’t take much to loose control of your vehicle! We just worked an Accident on hwy 183N where a vehicle lost control and hit a guard rail. Luckily nobody was injured.

The Ander-Weser Volunteer Fire Department would like to share an important water safety message originally posted by the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office.

As summer approaches and families spend more time around pools, rivers, lakes, and the coast, it is important to remember that drowning remains one of the leading causes of accidental death for young children. According to the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office, 22 Texas children have drowned so far in 2026.

Drowning can happen quickly and quietly, often in less time than it takes to send a text message or answer a phone call. The best prevention is active, undistracted supervision whenever children are in or around water.

âś” Designate a Water Watcher
✔ Keep children within arm’s reach when appropriate
âś” Use properly fitted life jackets around open water
âś” Learn CPR and basic water rescue skills
âś” Never assume someone else is watching
