Labor Day Weekend & LSU Kickoff Safety
It's a big weekend in Louisiana β Labor Day AND the start of LSU football season, all rolled into one. Whether you're grilling out for the holiday, watching the game, or both, a few reminders will help keep the weekend fun instead of eventful for the wrong reasons.
Labor Day Travel:
β
Buckle up β every seat, every trip
β
Avoid distracted driving, especially with heavier holiday traffic
β
Give yourself extra time; traffic patterns are less predictable on long weekends
β
Never drive impaired β have a designated driver lined up in advance
LSU Football Saturday Nights:
π Tailgating with a grill or fryer? Keep it well away from tents, vehicles, and anything flammable, and never leave it unattended
π Using a generator at your tailgate? Run it outdoors only, away from windows and doors β carbon monoxide doesn't care that it's game day
π Game day traffic around Baton Rouge gets heavy fast β leave earlier than you think you need to, and be patient
π It's still hot out β stay hydrated at the tailgate just like you would anywhere else outdoors in Louisiana
Have a great holiday weekend, and Geaux Tigers! π―
