Monday, Chief Grauke and Chief Torres drove Squad 71 to Alvarado, Texas to take delivery of our new skid unit. This was purchased with a Texas A&M Forest Service grant. This new skid unit features a Kubota diesel engine with a 400 gallon water tank, hose reel, storage basket on top, and 2 whip lines for mobile attack. We’d like to thank Wildfire Truck & Equipment for their professionalism and expertise, and the Texas A&M Forest Service for the much needed funding. -750

Yesterday, we took delivery of Tender 72! With the help of a HB2604 Grant from the Texas A&M Forest Service, we were able to build this great resource for the tax payers of Gonzales County! This is our first ever New Fire Apparatus Manufactured apparatus in the history of the department. Tender 72 sports a 3000 gallon water tank and 1500 gallon per minute pump. This helps us maintain constant water supply on fire scene when hydrants are few and far between. We’re proud to call it ours! -750
