It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Active Lifetime Member, Diana Creasey. Diana was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She dedicated her life to serving our community, providing selfless service to those in need.
With almost 43 years of service, Diana was a pillar of our EMS family, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, , teach and educate the new EMS generations as well as provide exceptional patient care.
Diana was a Registered Nurse who joined Centerville Company 3 on February 12, 1982.
Diana completed the Advanced First Aid & Emergency Care class, soon after certified as an Emergency Medical Technician, and in 1985 became a Shock-Trauma Technician, one our first ALS providers. Diana was a true healthcare professional, becoming more involved in the leadership of the company, recognizing our continued success as a rescue squad depended on quality EMT training provided locally and made convenient for our members. Diana became an EMT Instructor and trained and recertified hundreds of EMTs in the county and for surrounding jurisdictions. Along the way, she recruited all her family members into Fire-Rescue assisting with training and into membership; the Creasey Family composed their own rescue duty crew. In the 1990s, she transferred her membership to Courthouse Company 5 when she and her family moved to Maidens. Over the many years, Diana continued to teach EMT classes and organized EMS continuing education training. She served as Rescue Training Officer for Company 5, coordinating programs ranging from in-person classes to EMSAT on-line training programs. In current years, and as recently as just a few days ago, Diana was part of our Interview Pannel for new volunteer applicants joining the organization.
Diana’s legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched, the families she comforted, and the lives she saved. We will deeply miss her kindness, expertise, and unwavering commitment to our community.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Diana’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
