Another beautiful fall day, another trail cleanup! 💚

On October 3, Team Sandbag headed out to their Adopt-a-Trail section to give it some fall TLC. The team spent two hours cleaning up the trail and were happy to find very little trash. In fact, they didn’t even fill a Meijer bag! 👏

The cleanup crew included Jennifer Harris, Morgan Harris, Tyler Harris, Aiden Elsholz, Kameron Radatz, Susan Bolt and Chris Bolt, along with their smallest team member, the "Rat"! 🐶😀

We’re so grateful to Team Sandbag and all of our Adopt-a-Trail volunteers who give their time to help keep our trails clean, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

And judging by their photos, they had a pretty great day to do it! 🍁☀️

🎃🍩St. Clair County Parks will be Joining Donuts with Deputies!🚔👻

We’re excited to be part of this year’s Donuts with Deputies Trunk or Treat! Stop by and see St. Clair County Parks for some Halloween fun as we join the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office and other community partners for an evening of treats, activities and family fun!

🚻 Restrooms at 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 are now closed for the winter. A handicap-accessible portable restroom is available near the parking lot for your convenience.
The park’s off-season hours are now in effect: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., from Labor Day through Memorial Day.

🌿 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘: 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔, 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐙𝐄𝐑𝐒! 🌿

Today we’re shining the spotlight on another one of our amazing Adopt-a-Trail volunteer groups! 💚

Recently, four members of the Trailblazers, along with their four-legged helper, Hudson, met up to care for their section of the trail. 🐾 They spent about an hour and 15 minutes clearing the trail and checking their section, and were happy to find very little trash along the way!

With fall in full swing, the biggest cleanup challenge was a familiar one: lots of leaves and sticks on the trail. 🍂🌿

We’re grateful to the Trailblazers for getting out there and doing their part to keep our trails clean, safe and enjoyable for everyone!

🍂 𝐅𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐓. 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐘 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐒! 🍁

The first signs of fall color are starting to appear, and our parks are getting ready for their annual autumn show! Cool nights and warm, sunny days are bringing out the yellows, oranges and reds we look forward to each fall.

And don’t just look at the trees! Native grasses, wildflowers, shrubs and wetland plants are adding plenty of color and texture to the landscape, too.

Here are just a few places to explore this fall:

🍁 Columbus County Park — Look for Black Maples turning gold and orange, followed by the reds of Oaks and Ironwoods.

🌾 Blue Water River Walk — Fall wildflowers and native grasses will continue adding color through October and beyond.

🍂 Wadhams to Avoca Trail — Explore 12 miles of trail and discover new fall colors and scenic views, including the view from the Mill Creek Trestle.

🍁 Goodells & Woodsong County Parks — Look for Sugar Maples, Oaks, Sassafras and Staghorn Sumac as they put on some of their brightest displays throughout the fall.

Whether you're hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, playing disc golf or simply enjoying the scenery, fall is a great time to get outside and enjoy your county parks! 🍂
