A communications failure has resulted in the loss of NOAA Weather Radio's in Wray, Colorado, Trenton, Nebraska, and Lenora, Kansas. It is unknown at this time when service will be restored.

Thunderstorms are generally expected to form in the late afternoon and evening across much of the area. While that looks like the most likely time period, there remains significant uncertainty on how these storms will develop resulting in low confidence in pinning down specific times for storm impacts.

There is a Marginal risk for severe thunderstorms across much of the outlook area today. Storms are expected to develop across northeast Colorado during the late afternoon (after 4 PM MDT) and will gradually move to the southeast through the overnight hours. Strong wind gusts in excess of 60 mph and blowing dust will be the primary threat.

A familiar pattern will remain across the region with temperatures remaining 10 to 15 degrees above normal, with some potential for heat related stress each afternoon if proper precautions are not taken. Afternoon and early evening thunderstorms will return to the area through the weekend.
