🚧 2026 Street Improvement Project Update 🚧

The City of Goodview is excited to share the first update on our 2026 Street Improvement Project.

Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, August 10, and is expected to be completed by Friday, October 16, weather permitting.

Here's what residents can expect:
🚧 Road reconstruction and resurfacing on selected city streets.

🚗 No Parking signs will be posted before work begins. Please do not park on project streets during daytime work hours (Monday–Saturday) to help crews work safely and efficiently.

🗑️ Garbage, recycling, and 📬 mail delivery will continue as normal.

🚒 Police and Fire Departments have been coordinating with the contractor and are prepared for the project.

🏡 Residents will have access to their driveways whenever construction is not actively taking place in front of their homes, as well as during nights and Sundays.

💧 A water truck will be used to help control dust.

🎉 The project is not expected to interfere with Goodview Days.

This important investment will improve our streets, repair curbs and drainage infrastructure, update sidewalks where needed, and enhance the overall condition of our roadways.

Earlier this summer, the Goodview Fire Department had the opportunity to participate in a live burn training exercise alongside the Winona Fire Department and the Wilson Fire Department.

Live burn training provides invaluable hands-on experience, allowing firefighters to practice aggressive interior fire attack, enhance their understanding of fire behavior, and strengthen coordinated response efforts with neighboring departments. These training opportunities are essential to maintaining the skills and readiness needed to serve our communities safely and effectively.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Winona Fire Department for hosting this outstanding training and for the opportunity to work alongside our regional partners.

Last week, the Goodview Fire Department officially opened the Gruett Training Grounds and began training in the smaller of the two structures with a focus on fire behavior. This first training was simple, but it established the foundation for our fire attack methods as we progress to full scale training bringing together fire suppression, ventilation, search, and rescue.
