⛈️ Tornado Drill Reminder – Winona County ⛈️

Severe Weather Awareness Week is underway, and it’s time to practice your safety plan!

📅 Statewide Tornado Drills:
Thursday, April 16
🕐 1:45 PM & 6:45 PM

🚨 Winona County will be activating ALL outdoor warning sirens during both drill times.

This is a great opportunity to:
✔️ Practice going to your safe place (basement or interior room)
✔️ Review emergency plans with family or coworkers
✔️ Make sure your weather alerts are turned on

⚠️ Reminder:
• This is only a drill — no actual Tornado Warning will be issued
• No Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) will be sent to phones
• Sirens may sound depending on your location (they WILL in Winona County)

Take a few minutes to be prepared — it could save your life.

The City of Goodview is located in Southeastern Minnesota with rivers, lakes, hiking trails and many outdoor recreational activities to enjoy. The Goodview Police Department is hiring one police officer with a start date of July 1st, 2026. Candidates would need to be licensed or eligible to be licensed by the Minnesota Post Board. The Goodview Police Department is a small department with a good training budget that is willing to send officers to trainings and conferences.

We encourage experienced officers to apply with a salary range of $31.96 to $41.55 per hour with a full benefits package. First step increase at six months with a second step increase at one year with good reviews. Applicants are subject to a background check, physical examination with a drug screening, and a psychological evaluation.

Officers that successfully complete the FTO program will be working ten-hour shifts with a 21-day (6-5-6-4) rotation. Officers will have five days off every third weekend allowing them to enjoy activities outside of work. Officers living within twenty minutes of Goodview are eligible for a take home squad.
