Our officers had the opportunity to participate in a fi****ms training course hosted by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics. We’re grateful for their commitment to bringing high‑quality training to rural Oklahoma.

A career in law enforcement is about more than a job, it's about making a difference.

Every day, our officers answer calls for help, build relationships within our community, and serve with professionalism and integrity.

This video, created by Black Mesa Creative, offers a glimpse into what it means to wear the badge and serve with honor.

If you're looking for a career with purpose and impact, we encourage you to explore a future with our department.

From the badge to the ball field. Chief McDowell and Officer Vinson along with their wives, Kambrie and Raven, are coaching this season’s Rotary Club softball team, showing our kids that their police department is here for more than calls. We’re here to support, encourage, and be part of the community we love.

🚨🐐 GOODWELL POLICE DEPARTMENT – OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 🐐🚨

APRIL 1, 2026

Effective immediately, the Goodwell Police Department is expanding our specialized detection capabilities with the introduction of our newest asset: G‑9 Unit Officer Nibbles.

After extensive field testing (and several chewed extension cords), Officer Nibbles has demonstrated exceptional aptitude in the following areas:

• Aggressive contraband detection
(He will locate the source of any suspicious smell. Whether it’s evidence or someone’s lunch is… variable.)
• Rapid perimeter clearing
Mostly because he runs in circles until everyone moves out of his way.
• Unconventional interrogation techniques
Eye contact. Unbroken. Unsettling. Highly effective.
• Evidence disposal
Not authorized, but undeniably efficient.

While we acknowledge that a goat is not a traditional addition to a police department, Officer Nibbles has shown unwavering dedication, a strong work ethic, and the ability to head‑butt morale to acceptable levels.

Please join us in welcoming Officer Nibbles as he begins his duties with the Goodwell Police Department’s first‑ever G‑9 Drug Detection Unit.

This concludes today’s official announcement.
Happy April Fools’ Day, Stay safe!🐐🚓
