Another New Hire Orientation is in the books, and this month we had a full house! 🙌

It’s always exciting to welcome new employees who are bringing their talents, experience and energy to Team Goodyear. Every new team member plays a role in helping us serve our residents and keep Goodyear a great place to live, work and grow.

Welcome to Team Goodyear! 🌟

Big changes are shaping Goodyear’s future! We recently unveiled the new Maverick Way street sign, marking the main entrance to Goodyear High School. A street name might seem like a small detail, but it represents months of planning, design, and coordination. Our Engineering team works tirelessly behind the scenes to build the roads, sidewalks, and infrastructure that keep our growing community connected. Proud of their work and proud of Goodyear! There is something energizing about seeing a new group of employees begin their journey with the city.

I had the chance to spend time with our July new hires during orientation and hear more about the skills and experiences they bring to Team Goodyear. Their work will touch many parts of our organization and, ultimately, the residents we serve.

I’m grateful they chose public service and chose Goodyear. Please help me welcome them to the team.

Today’s successful Buc-ee’s opening in Goodyear was the result of outstanding teamwork, preparation and coordination across our city.

Thank you to the many Goodyear team members who helped plan, support and manage this important opening, from public safety and traffic coordination to communications, operations and on-site support. Your professionalism and commitment helped ensure a safe, smooth and memorable day for our community.

This is an exciting milestone for Goodyear, and I’m proud of the work our team did to help welcome Arizona’s first Buc-ee’s to our city.

One of the best parts of joining Team Goodyear is getting to meet the people who make this organization so special.

As I begin my second week as city manager, I am also participating in June new hire orientation with our newest employees. It is a great reminder that whether you are brand new to the city or stepping into a new role, we are all part of the same team, working together to serve our community.

Please join me in welcoming our June new hires to Team Goodyear.

Welcoming new team members to the city of Goodyear is always a highlight of this role.

I recently had the chance to connect with our May new hires as they begin their public service journey. Their enthusiasm, talent, and dedication to our community are a great reflection of what makes this organization strong.

Welcome to Goodyear. We’re excited to have you here, and we look forward to the impact you will make.

Goodyear’s future is growing strong. Thank you to the students from Mabel Padgett Elementary School for helping celebrate Arbor Day with a special tree planting at Falcon Park. These young leaders helped make the day meaningful and memorable.

April is full of ways to stay connected and engaged in Goodyear!

The new InFocus highlights the power of civic engagement and the many ways residents help shape our city’s future. Learn more at goodyearaz.gov/infocus.

There are also great opportunities to get involved this month, including the Goodyear City Council Meeting on April 13, Spring Hours at the Goodyear Aquatics Center on weekends, and the Shred-A-Thon on April 18 to safely dispose of documents and medications.

We’re also inviting artists to apply for the Juneteenth Family Day mural experience by April 19, and adults 55+ can explore new creative outlets through the Creative Aging program at the Loma Linda Community Center.

I’m grateful for a community that continues to stay involved, connected, and committed to making Goodyear a great place to live.
