🔥 Chief Cain would like to remind everyone about the 8th Annual Goose Lake Fire "Smoke Show" BBQ Contest being held at the Goose Lake Fire Station on Saturday, June 20th!

🍖 Cooker Details

• 4 Categories: Pork Butt, Baby Back Ribs, Chicken Thighs & Dessert
• ALL meat is provided!
• Turn in 3 samples per category for judging
• Remaining samples go toward the People's Choice Award
• Additional food may be served for People's Choice samples

💲 $20 per category entered
📞 Register by June 6th: 563-219-5945 (leave a voicemail if needed)
⏰ Turn-in times: TBD

• $20 = 10 sample tickets + 10 People's Choice votes
• Samples available while supplies last
• 🍺 Beer and other drinks available for donation

We got a new sign! Thanks to everyone who has donated in the past and to those who continue to donate in the future. The money collected from cans helps purchase firefighting equipment for our department. A big thank you to the Tilted Silo/Goose Lake C-Store for allowing us to place our can collection cage at their location and supporting our department and community.

Volunteers from the Pink Heals stopped by the fire station today. The Goose Lake Fire Department was proud to donate several retired SCBA bottles to be repurposed into artwork for those battling cancer.

While these bottles may have reached the end of their service on the fireground, it’s great knowing they’ll continue serving a purpose by bringing a little encouragement and support to those fighting a much bigger battle.

During National Volunteer Week, we want to take a moment to recognize the heart of our department—our volunteers. 🚒🚑

To the men and women who leave their families in the middle of dinner, get up in the middle of the night, and show up whenever our community needs you… thank you. You don’t do this for recognition—you do it because you care, and that says everything.

We see the long hours, the missed moments, the tough calls, and the commitment it takes to serve. Our community is safer and stronger because of each one of you.

In honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the Goose Lake Fire Department had the opportunity to provide dinner for the night shift at Clinton County Communications.

We truly appreciate everything our dispatchers do. You’re the calm voice on the other end of the line and a big part of keeping everyone safe. We are thankful for each and every one of you.
