You should vote for me as your next Palo Pinto County District Clerk because I believe in government transparency, accountability of our elected officials and putting customer service first. As a citizen I have seen government offices act guarded when citizens ask for information regarding a case or if they ask about the operations of the office. If the case is public information, I believe that record requests should be addressed as quickly as possible. I will always have an open door and I encourage citizens to come to our office to ask questions, which we will answer to the best of our abilities. We need to hold our elected officials accountable for the things they say and promise us. I plan to bring the District Clerk's office up to date with a credit card processor, allowing in-person filings and starting the process of moving our records online. During my time working for the District Clerk's office, I was able to see the operations of the office that worked efficiently and the operations that hindered the office's ability to help the public. We need to work on bringing this office to the 21st century and reaching the standards set by our neighboring counties. There are counties that surround Palo Pinto County that offer services that we do not. Customer service has taken a backseat in government offices, and I think that we should put the citizens needing that office first. I promise to treat the people using the District Clerk's office how I would like to be treated if I needed that office. I prioritize customer service and the experience from my job history allows me to focus on streamlining the office operations. I will build a strong staff that works together and upholds these standards I set in the office. I believe that a good staff will be able to run the office no matter who is elected as District Clerk. Creating that dream team is a necessity after the massive amount of turnover that office has seen in the last 5 years.
