Storms continue across western AR and now into east-central OK along an advancing outflow boundary. A strong to severe storm or two remains possible through sunset, with locally damaging downburst winds the main threat.

Due to the severe weather our area experienced last night, the Town of Gore will allow the discharge of fireworks today until 10:00 PM.

Town ordinance normally prohibits the discharge of fireworks after the Fourth of July. However, because many families were unable to enjoy their celebrations due to the weather, we are making this one-time exception.

Please celebrate responsibly, be considerate of your neighbors, and always put safety first. Thank you for your cooperation, and we hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening.

A huge thank you to the Gore Fire Department and Sequoyah County RFPD #1!

During tonight’s storm, our agencies worked together to remove a large tree that had fallen across the roadway. Despite the heavy rain and challenging conditions, everyone came together to clear the road and help keep our community safe.

We are grateful for the teamwork, professionalism, and willingness to answer the call—no matter the weather. Strong partnerships like these are what make our community stronger.

Thank you, Gore Fire Department and Sequoyah County RFPD #1, for your assistance and dedication to serving the citizens of Gore.
