The Gore Police Department would like to help spread the word about a community Rock Hunt taking place in support of April Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Beginning today, Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. and continuing through Monday, April 13, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., the Children’s SaveHaven Advocacy Center, in conjunction with the Sequoyah County MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) Child Abuse Task Force, is hosting a Rock Hunt throughout Sequoyah County.

There will be 30 rocks hidden in public access areas only throughout Gore, Vian, Sallisaw, Marble City, Roland, and Muldrow. No rocks will be placed on private property. Each rock found is connected to a prize.

Several agencies have helped make this event possible, and we encourage everyone to come out, participate, and support this important cause. Please review the attached flyer for the full rules and instructions on claiming prizes.

We hope everyone has a great time, stays safe, and finds an amazing rock with an incredible prize package.

Shower and storm coverage has decreased overall as we head into the nighttime hours. An area of showers and a few storms persists to the north and west of Tulsa, and may continue for a few more hours. Isolated activity elsewhere should gradually dissipate.

Coffee with the Chief ☕

Starting on the first Tuesday of every month, I will be at a local restaurant in Gore for Coffee with the Chief.

Come grab a cup of coffee, enjoy breakfast, and talk with me about any law enforcement related concerns or questions you may have in our community. This is a great opportunity to visit, share your thoughts, and help strengthen communication between the community and law enforcement.

Location and time will be updated at a later date.

We will try to keep everyone updated as weather updates come in.
