Cadets and Advisors had the privilege of attending Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus’ Leadership Speaker Series. It featured retired Major General John F Hussey. He discussed a variety of topics including leadership skills and qualities, resiliency, and integrity. 🇺🇸🫡🏆

🌟 Proud of Orange County Sheriff’s Explorer Post 5110 cadets who braved the rain last night to spread holiday cheer! 🎁 They distributed gifts from the Office of the Aging to senior citizens across Orange County, making a difference despite challenging conditions. 🌧️🎄

Investigstor Hluchan is one of our Post Advisors and is committed to helping the youth in our community succeed!

🌟 Meet Deputy Tim Hluchan, an investigator with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, New York , with nine years of service. He shared with us his heartfelt experience from his very first year at camp this past July! 🏕️💙

"This is my first year. But what I witnessed in this short time has left a profound impact. I see the camp as more than just a summer escape; it's a place where kids come together, create enduring memories, and embark on adventures they may not have in their everyday lives.”

Deputy Hluchan believes it's about giving these young hearts a break from their normal routine and exposing them to experiences like kayaking and sailing. These are not just fun activities; they're opportunities for these kids to learn, grow, and develop a positive perception of law enforcement.

In the Deputy’s own words, "It gives them a much different viewpoint of who we really are inside." With a smile, he emphasizes that, “we're just like any other person, even when we’re wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and sneakers at camp.”

As for the future, Deputy Hluchan is determined to return, pending approval from his Sheriff and command staff (which we’re confident he’ll get!😊).

Deputy Hluchan’s commitment to the camp's mission and the impact it has on these young lives is truly inspiring. 🙌 We look forward to many more years of making a difference together!

🌟 Explorer Post 5110 takes pride in sharing the success of our dedicated Cadet, Alvin John, who eloquently spoke at the 13th Annual Orange County Youth & Adult Summit last Wednesday at the Ski Lodge, Thomas Bull Memorial Park. 🚀 Cadet John highlighted how our program has been a stepping stone in his law enforcement career, shaping him into a more productive and driven individual. We’re honored to be a part of his journey! 💙

Village Pizza in Goshen, NY, recently teamed up with Orange County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 5110 Cadets, teaching them the art of making pizza boxes! 📦 Their support and guidance were invaluable, reminding us that our law enforcement program goes beyond just training professionals. It’s about imparting real-life skills and fostering community bonds. We’re grateful for Village Pizza’s generosity and enjoyed a delicious meal together. Giving back is at the heart of what we do! 🤝

During last week’s meeting Orange County Sheriff’s Office explorers from Post 5110 cleaned up garbage along the Orange County Heritage Trail.
