The first time I met Jerry was in 2022. He was catering a lunch for the COA. Somewhere we starting talking about old books. He said he loved old dictionaries. We had one we needed to find a good home for. It didn’t have a book case. He wouldn’t take it because he valued them so much he wanted everyone to be able to enjoy looking at them.
As luck would have it I came across just the right encyclopedia book case.
Every time I look at it- it brings him to mind. And there’s one teen that visits that loves old books. And he gets to enjoy it because of Jerry’s insight.
What a generous human he was!

Come in and check out the book and/or movie from our current display. Read the book and then watch the movie to find out how the ruined it… I mean changed it. We have a selection for adults, teens, and children!

If they got a flood, Goshen got a ton of rain!

Join us on Wednesday, July 15, at 6:00 p.m. at the Look Park Garden House for an engaging presentation on the famous Flood of 1936. Discover how the disaster impacted Northampton and Hadley, how both communities responded in its aftermath, and the lasting legacy of one of the region's most significant natural disasters.

The presentation will be given by Josh Shanley, a Massachusetts writer, historian, and emergency management professional.
