North Oldham Fire District

North Oldham Fire District www.nofd.org Our fire department is funded by a property tax levied on real estate and personal property.

By utilizing paid firefighters and EMT's, we are able to provide a high quality service in a highly cost-effective manner. Our ISO rating is 3 and we staff two stations (one in Goshen and one in Skylight) 24 hours a day, seven days a week with 3 firefighter/EMTs at each station. Our Goshen station has one Engine, one Ladder Truck, one water tanker and one brush/field unit. Our Skylight station has

two Engines and one water tanker. Firefighters are required to be trained to the State's minimum of 400 initial hours of training with recurring training requirements every year. Each member is also a State licensed Emergency Medical Technician.

Captain Americo Cruz and Jim Sohan are in Bradenton FL doing the final inspection of the new fire engine for the Skylight firehouse. While the weather is nice, and we are in Florida, there are 391 individual items that have to be visually inspected. Then the road test then the pump test have to be done. The truck should be in Oldham County by the end of November and hopefully in service by the first of 2026.
