Goshen Chess is heading to State!

Next Saturday, March 21, Goshen Community Schools will be well represented at the Indiana State Chess Finals at Hammond Central High School, with teams from Goshen High School, Goshen Intermediate School, Chamberlain Elementary School, and West Goshen Elementary School competing against the best players from across the state.

Several of our teams qualified through strong performances at regionals, including two teams from Goshen High School, a qualifying team from Goshen Intermediate School, and two teams from Chamberlain Elementary. West Goshen also qualified a team in the 3rd Grade & Under division.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication, strategy, and focus these students have shown throughout the season. Good luck to all of our RedHawk chess players as they compete at the state level! ♟️

A fun and meaningful morning in Miss Neuhart’s kindergarten class at West Goshen Elementary School. Principal Carrie Garber kicked things off with a Valentine’s Day interactive song, getting students moving and engaged, before Miss Neuhart led a lesson focused on the single-letter word “I.”

Students practiced reading and confidence as they came to the board to find and circle the word in a sentence—small moments that build big skills.

Our new Goshen Community Schools website is officially live!
Built in partnership with SmartSites (the parent company of ParentSquare), the site was redesigned to make it easier than ever for families to find what they need—quickly, clearly, and on any device.

Over the past year, our Communications Department worked closely with school leaders, staff, and our RedHawk Advocates parent group to ensure the site reflects our community and highlights the incredible work happening across GCS.

The result? A cleaner layout, refreshed design, improved navigation, and a one-stop hub for calendars, menus, schools, departments, and more.

This launch is just the beginning—we’ll continue refining and improving the site, and we welcome your constructive comments by emailing [email protected].

Before Fall Break, our 4th graders wrapped up their unit on the heart—both literal and figurative—by creating their own blood models! ❤️🩸

Through this hands-on activity, students learned about the components of blood and how they work together to keep our hearts (and bodies) healthy and strong. A great mix of science, creativity, and heart!
