At approximately 8:03 PM on February 4, the Goshen Fire District was dispatched to a reported possible chimney fire in the 700 block of Bowen Boulevard.

Engines 1151 and 1152 arrived quickly on scene, with crews simultaneously making entry and accessing the roof. Firefighters discovered an active chimney fire and worked diligently to contain and extinguish it. Additional GFD personnel arrived shortly after to assist with suppression and overhaul efforts. The fire was successfully brought under control.

We would like to remind homeowners of the importance of having chimneys and flues cleaned at least annually — or more frequently during periods of heavy use — especially during colder weather.
