Rain rain go away! Please be advised that Goshen Recreation Day Camp is cancelled today, Monday, July 6.

Due to current conditions at the park, an active local flood watch, and a poor weather forecast for the rest of the day, we have made the difficult decision to cancel camp.

We fully expect to resume our regular schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, July 7, weather and conditions permitting.

To help celebrate the reopening of Erie Street Park, the Goshen Joint Recreation Commission is giving away a copy of the acclaimed children's book, The Village Garage, signed by every employee of the Village of Goshen Department of Public Works. This rare, out-of-print book by Hudson Valley author and illustrator G. Brian Karas playfully describes the wide variety of projects taken on by the staff of a fictional Village Garage throughout the year. In fact, Goshen's own “Village Garage” is located right behind the park!

One lucky child attending the Erie Street park reopening ceremony on Friday, July 3, from noon to 2 pm, will take home this unique prize. The contest is free to enter and open to Goshen children ages 9 and under.

The book giveaway celebrates the tremendous amount of work contributed by the Village of Goshen DPW, led by Superintendent Bryan Morgiewicz. Goshen JRC is pleased to honor the efforts of these municipal employees who helped make the reopening possible.

The 2nd Annual Holiday Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 6th!

Last year’s Holiday Parade was a huge success! This year we hope that more families, businesses and organizations will join the fun and enter a float in the parade.
