Benton Township Volunteer Fire Department

Benton Township Volunteer Fire Department Benton Township is one of sixteen townships in Elkhart County, Indiana. As of 2009, the population is appoximately 3, 191.

The township covers an area of 35.9 square miles; 0.05 square miles of this is water. Benton Township Fire Department is a non-profit volunteer fire department that has approximatley thirty active volunteers. Jason Dunlap is Fire Chief with Clayton Erb as his Assistant Chief. The department currently has seven trucks; Engine 1, Engine 31, Rescue 2, Rescue 4, Tanker 3, Tanker 6, and Squad 5. The fi

re department responds to all medical and fire related 911 calls in Benton Township and provides mutual aid when needed to other townships.

Benton Fire Department would like to offer our condolences to Larry Erb's family and friends. He served as a firefighter for Benton for 48 years and 7 months. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Larry Lee Erb, 80 of Benton died Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at his home. He was born April 16, 1939 to Menno and Lois Eichelberger Erb in Cuming County, Nebraska. On October 3, 1959 he married Sharon Metzler at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church in Goshen. She survives along with their

Good evening everyone! With this bitter cold and wind chill we would like for everyone to take some precautionary measures.

1. Have at least a half a tank of fuel in your vehicle.
2.Keep extra gloves, hats, blankets and clothes in your vehicle.
3.Have a charged phone on you at all times.
4. And never hesitate to call for assistance if you find yourself in an emergency situation.
