Are you passionate about helping students reach their full potential? East Buchanan School District is seeking a dedicated Middle School and High School Resource Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.

These positions focus on supporting students with disabilities in grades 6-8 and 9-12 through individualized instruction, academic intervention, and collaboration with general education teachers to ensure student success.

Key responsibilities include:

✨ Developing and implementing IEPs that support student growth and independence
✨ Providing specialized instruction in reading, writing, math, organization, and study skills
✨ Teaching executive functioning skills such as time management, task completion, self-advocacy, and goal setting
✨ Supporting students in accessing grade-level curriculum through accommodations and modifications
✨ Collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff to create inclusive learning opportunities
✨ Monitoring student progress and using data to guide instruction
✨ Preparing students for post-secondary success, including college, career, and independent living skills
✨ Promoting self-determination, confidence, and problem-solving skills

Summer Library Hours in the high school Library:
Mondays (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM): Story times at 11:30, 12:30, and 1:30
Wednesdays (3:00 PM – 7:00 PM): Story times at 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30

Students at recess were moved indoors for a few minutes while police attended to a situation near the school. There was no direct threat to the school but students were moved inside until the police addressed the issue. Normal operations have resumed.

HS Boys summer weights begins tomorrow 5/26 at 8 am.
HS Girls summer weights will not start until June 2nd at 7 am.
