With a significant winter storm arriving tonight, be prepared for possible power outages.
• Keep electronic devices, including cell phones and essential medical devices, fully charged.
• Use generators and grills outside because their fumes contain carbon monoxide.
• Call 9-1-1 to report emergencies, including downed power lines, or if you are dependent on equipment that requires electricity and need medical assistance.

[Potentially Historic/Destructive Storm southeast of the BOS-PVD corridor] We are very concerned for areas southeast of the Boston-Providence corridor where wet snow combines with northeast wind gusts of 60-70 mph. Power outages & tree damage. Worst conditions Mon 4 am to noon.

Preparation information from MEMA regarding the winter storm tonight into tomorrow. Will be sharing a few more posts over the next couple of days on this storm.

With a strong winter storm forecast to bring 12 to 24 inches of snow to Massachusetts and blizzard conditions to southeastern parts of the state on Sunday night through Monday, now is the time to prepare.
• Be ready for possible power outages.
• Clear snow from your home's outdoor exhaust vents.
• Ensure smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in your home are working.

Info from NWS Boston. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 7 AM Sunday Morning to 8 PM Monday Evening for 12-18" of snow with isolated higher amounts to 20-22" in heavier snow bands. Will post updates later in the weekend.

With a significant winter storm forecast to bring 12+ inches of snow to much of Massachusetts on Sunday and Monday, it's time to prepare.
• Plan ahead for possible power outages. Fully charge your cellphone, laptop and any essential electronic devices before the storm.
• Ensure you have extra batteries for medical equipment and assistive devices.
• Take stock of your emergency kit and ensure it includes seasonal supplies, such as extra winter clothing and blankets.

A round of strong to severe storms will move through southern New England late in the day Saturday, mainly for interior locations. The main threats are damaging winds, hail, and even a tornado.
