Here is my costume for the "Not Just for Young Adults" Book Group discussion of "Blood Circus," by Camila Victorie. At the end of the twenty-first century climate change and famine almost wipe out the humans, until they discover another humanoid species—the Klujns . The humans hunt them for food and other resources they feel are necessary for their own survival. The Klujns, not to be outdone, periodically kidnap human girls and force them to take part in a ritual that is not for the faint of heart. Once the girls arrive at the site of the ritual, they notice the village has "a row of wooden boxes on stilts. Fuzzy black and yellow insects buzz around, and a sweet smell fills the air...."They're bees...Bees are extinct....Then you tell me what they are...""
